The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, is currently visiting Australia following the 14 December 2025 Bondi massacre.
The President was seen attending a Jewish school and laying a wreath at the Bondi Pavilion.
However, his visit to Australia has not been without controversy.
Protests have erupted across the country, including in Melbourne and Sydney.
The so-called reason given for the President’s visit is to comfort the Australian Jewish community still in shock over the Bondi attack.
Why Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese didn’t invite the Chief Rabbi of the Commonwealth or the Chief Rabbis of Israel is still in question.
Instead, Albanese invited a highly controversial political figure in Herzog which has only damaged social cohesion in Australia.
